A strong author bio gives your book authority and forges a personal connection with readers. You can use your author bio to:
- Establish credibility. Share relevant information that makes you an authority on your subject. For example, if you write a cookbook, note your accomplishments in cooking but leave out your Ph.D. in physics.
- Make it personal. Showcase your personality (“She loves black tea and white chocolate”) or explain why you’re writing this book (“After years of struggling with credit card debt, I knew it was time to make a change”).
- Promote your brand. You can mention other books you’ve written, link to your website, encourage readers to get in touch through social media, etc.
